Christmas Crafts

Pictures hanging in Fairhaven...time to do some simple Christmas crafts. This idea is from Pinterest.. It's just pearl straight pins, buttons and ribbon...took me just minutes...

Pictures for the Colophon

Just as I took the first picture of the 9 pieces I've prepared for the Colophon, I dropped my camera and the lens is broken. I'm so disappointed! I have yet to figure out the Nikon. I actually would have liked to take a second, more appropriately centered picture of this piece, which is different for me.

Lucky Day...

I found a used canvas in the alley (on top of a neighbor's garbage can) and found some beautiful old greeting cards at a garage sale. Scavenging for raw materials has been an interesting hobby of late.....

Art Journal

I recently took an art journaling class from Clarissa Callessen and just loved it. I had attempted it before but didn't really know where to start. She gave me all kinds of ideas........ and convinced me there really are no rules....

I have memories of these people from when I was a very small child. They were friends of my grandmother, Ada Spears, named Jimmy and Dorothy. They both passed long ago and I don't believe they had children or I would try to find them to give them this great picture. Look at Dorothy's them.

Looking through a box of old photographs I found these dapper dudes from WAY back and I have no idea what to do with them, but I'm certain they will end up in artwork somewhere..

The art has suffered as I am slowly maneuvering myself into spring. I'm having trouble seeing it as a new beginning just yet, but I'm sure I will (before winter begins again anyway). My little dog has provided me considerable entertainment and a lot of comfort as changes in my life have caused me pain.

One thing little Bella has forced me to do is to really look closely at my neighborhood. I've been walking (several times a day) through the streets and alleys and have gleaned several pounds of previously useful items (including even a canvas sitting on top of a garbage can) and I plan to work on a new set of pieces I'm going to call "Alley Art" and it will consist largely of beat up bottle caps and miscellaneous little pieces of hardware that defy description. I've also come to enjoy the area I live as the quaint little neighborhood it is.

I also got a new camera...........a spendy little Nikon. Once I figure out how to use the thing I'm hoping my posts will look a whole lot more professional...

This is Bella. I found her on a website for homeless animals. She is the sweetest most calm of little dogs and is already the love of my life!!
